“Hi, everyone, it's Pathia. I just finished packing up and everything for holiday break. That took a while. I also had some errands to run.
I picked up my tickets for Further Confusion. I'm flying in the day before the con and leaving after the con, so I'll be there for the entirety of it, even though it's, like, a super-long con to begin with. I figure it's just the second week of school; I can say "screw it" and miss some classes. Not that big a deal.
Also, it was very cool -- the ticket that I was given by American for agreeing to be bumped when I was leaving MFF completely paid for the trip, so I'm going to Further Confusion for free. The, you know, the con and the hotel, that will cost money, but not bad to fly completely for free. I'll have to remember to agree to be bumped more often. *laughs*
Let's see...oh, yeah, one of the cool things was is when I was booking the ticket, I went to the ticket counter and bought it in person because it was much easier than mailing the ticket in and doing all sorts of garbage running through hoops faxing it, so I just decided, "Screw it, I'll go in person," and the lady there looked at the ticket and said, "Who's Richard Owens?" I was like, "I'm Richard Owens," and she's like "Oh! Oh my God, I'm sorry!" And I was like, "No, no, that's OK." I guess she was thing I was picking up a ticket for my husband or something. That was rather interesting. She didn't believe me until I showed her the ID.
But I'm on my way to my parents' house. As said in an earlier post before, my mom is gonna join PFLAG, so I think she's coming around a lot faster. So, Dad's still, I don't know, he won't even really talk to me. He's like, he just kinda grunts at me and says "Hi," and that's about it. So, yeah, I'm trying to think here.
Oh, I'm about to hit the tunnel in Norfolk, so I might as well go, so, it's only about a 3-hour drive, so I'll see everyone online from my laptop in a couple hours. Bye bye!”
