Mar. 15th, 2007 @ 09:27 pm So...
Do any of you live in the region of this route?

Mom is too sick and in the midst of chemotherapy, so she will not be joining me on the trek. I will go utterly bat shit insane if I do not meet some of you on the way!

**Note. With this far of a drive, 3-5hours 'out of the way' is not really 'out of the way' because as long as I go westish, I am going the right way**

Yupyup! I plan on hanging out with you at least one day before I actually leave. I'm not still clear exactly on the details, mom being too sick to go at all makes things a little less clear on exact dates.

You know something? If I hadn't moved out to CA, I would've been on that route. But you met me anyway, so it all works out, right? =^.^=

Only if you re-route further south...

(Permanent Link)
...and swing through Kansas City before heading north-west.

It'd change the route from around 2796 miles to about 2941 miles, as evidenced with this updated link that shows the two-stage route approximately.

Yeah, actually. I'm smack in the middle of Milwaukee, which doesn't seem too far offa your given route. If I'm reading the instructions correctly, you'd be about, ooooh... ten miles from where I'm at. Graphics wise it seems to be indicating you'll never get closer than 100 miles or so. Hmm, truthfully I can't figure out what mutant route it's trying to convince you that you'll be going through Wisconsin, since that blue line's nowhere near I-94.

Not that it matters!

Folks of more interest to you might be Seph and Geemo, I should think. Also veery close to the listed route.

Wow. You're doing the same thing we did! Drive cross country! *woo!*

Well, we're in California, so.. We're too far for ya. But hey, good luck with that. Watch the weather.. And bring a CB Radio. It'll keep you entertained.

I'm about five minutes off of I-90 in Spokane, eastern Washington.

I'm about an hour north of Chicago in Milwaukee! You would be taking probably about a 2 hour diversion if you came up that way to visit with me, you'd just take I-94 instead of I-90, and your route would carry you up through Milwaukee, then west to Madison where you could pick the 90 back up towards Minnesota. :)

Ironically, I did just a couple of months ago, live at the end of that route.

Ironically, I will in a couple of months, live near the beginning of that route.

Go figger.

Is this the official move thing? Neat.

I'm in Portland, which is a bit south of Seattle but pretty much on the final stretch of the trip, if you detoured. Otherwise, I'm sure I'll make it up there to visit you, Tanya, Kristy and Jessie eventually anyway!

I'm actualy on the route, but at the exact end. I live in Seattle... well Redmond, but that's close enough. I would be more then willing to help show you around, if you don't already have half a dozen people lined up ;)

Well, drat. I live near Detroit. Serves me right for not reading your LJ for so long. If you're ever out along that route and you wanna stop over, I'll show you some good places to eat and give you crash space. :)

But I lived in Seattle until I was outed to my parents and lost my car and other things that were still legally in my father's name, forcing me to move to a friend's house in Chicagoland in preparation for FFS.

Having spent 22 of my 23 years in the Pacific Northwest and loving to read and explore I have an encyclopaediac knowledge of the area and can provide lots of local lore, success tips, interesting things to do, and etc, in the region, along with explain some of our quirks and oddities.

I try to be useful to people who seem to need it, and with your mother's very unfortunate troubles, you definitely qualify.

Well, I live in Cleveland. I guess it's a little late to get together now. I don't know where or how we'd meet up. I've been pretty busy lately.
